Today, I heard three new sounds: a vacuum cleaner, a civil defense siren and a harmonica.
I barked at one, ran away from the other and howled at the third.

That would be my guess as well. Ran from the vacuum, barked at the harmonica and howled at the civil defense siren. If that is correct, then it is exactly what my two dogs do.
