Two signs the economy is picking up

Here are the two “never fail” signs I watch to indicate that the economy is picking up.

1. The number of UPS/FedEx trucks are increasing through the subdivision. This month, we have FedEx and UPS rolling through here twice a day. morning and afternoon. The USPS truck is also rolling through with Priority packages before he delivers the mail. Last year, I saw almost no activity. In addition, the UPS truck has a driver and a helper. Last year, most trucks were run solo.

2. Job listings for retail and retail services are increasing. Check out the trends posted on Indeed.com

We may be a bit further along in recovery, but I don’t think we’re too far away. Let’s hope not; this recession has been a long, dark, scary hallway with no lights. At least the lights are starting to flicker a bit.
